Determination of rate of interest

52. Determination of rate of interest



(1) The Governor in Council may from time to time, by Order published in the
Government Gazette, determine the rate of interest to be paid in respect of
unpaid compensation under this Act.

(2) The rate of interest determined by the Governor in Council must not exceed
the rate for the time being fixed under section 2 of the
Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983.
