LAND ACQUISITION AND COMPENSATION ACT 1986 - SECT 1

The main purposes of this Act are—

        (a)     to establish a new procedure for the acquisition of land for public purposes; and

        (b)     to provide for the determination of the compensation payable in respect of land so acquired.
