Deferral of jury service

7. Deferral of jury service



(1) A person, or another person on their behalf, may-

   (a)  after receipt of a questionnaire; or

   (b)  at any time prior to becoming a member of a panel-

apply to the Juries Commissioner for deferral of jury service to another
period within the next 12 months.

(2) On an application under subsection (1), the Juries Commissioner may defer
a person's jury service to a date within the next 12 months.

(3) If the Juries Commissioner decides to refuse an application for deferral,
the Juries Commissioner must notify the person in respect of whom the
application was made.
