Supplementary jurors
41. Supplementary jurors
(1) If a trial is likely to be delayed because there is an insufficient number
of persons available for the selection of a jury, the court may, on its own
motion or on application by a party, direct the Juries Commissioner to
supplement a panel by selecting a sufficient number from among persons who are
qualified and liable for jury service and instructing them to attend for jury
service.
(2) The number of persons to be selected, and the method of selection, is as
directed by the court.
(3) The persons instructed under this section to attend for jury service
become members of the panel from which the jury for the trial is to be
selected.
