PART 1 PRELIMINARY

Purpose

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to provide for the operation and administration of
a system of trial by jury that-

   (a)  equitably spreads the obligation of jury service amongst the
        community; and

   (b)  makes juries more representative of the community; and

   (c)  permits the timely adoption of new technologies for the selection of
        persons for jury service.
