Consent to research using gametes

34. Consent to research using gametes

Research involving the use of a gamete (which is not research under section
22(1)) must not be carried out unless-

   (a)  before the gamete is used for research, the person who produced the
        gamete consented to the use of the gamete for the purpose of research
        or for the carrying out of the particular procedure which the person
        who is to conduct the research intends to carry out; and

   (b)  the research will be carried out in accordance with the terms of that
        consent.
