34. Demerit point schemes

Despite anything to the contrary in this Division, the expiation of an
infringement offence under this Division in relation to an offence which is-

   (a)  a traffic infringement within the meaning of the Road Safety Act 1986
        does not prevent the incurring of demerit points under section 25 of
        that Act in relation to the infringement offence; and

   (b)  an offence under the Accident Towing Services Act 2007 does not
        prevent the incurring of accident towing demerit points under that Act
        in relation to that offence.
