Appointment or engagement of auditors
63B. Appointment or engagement of auditors
(1) The Secretary may appoint an employee under Part 3 of the
Public Administration Act 2004 or engage any other person with the
qualifications, skills or expertise which, in the opinion of the Secretary,
are appropriate to carry out an audit under this Division.
(2) The Secretary must specify the terms and conditions on which a person is
engaged to carry out an audit under this Division.
(3) The Secretary must give written notice to the chief executive officer of
an agency in respect of which an audit will be carried out under this Division
stating-
(a) that an audit will be carried out and the terms of reference for the
audit; and
(b) the name of the auditor who has been appointed or engaged to carry out
the audit.
(4) The Secretary must issue to an auditor a copy of the auditor's
authorisation to act as an auditor under this Division.
