Commencement

2. Commencement



(1) This Part comes into operation on the day on which this Act receives the
Royal Assent.

(2) Sections 215 and 218(2) come into operation on the day which is the second
anniversary of the day on which section 214 comes into operation.

(3) Subject to subsections (4) and (5), the remaining provisions of this Act
come into operation on a day or days to be proclaimed.

(4) Subject to subsection (5), if a provision referred to in subsection (3)
does not come into operation within the period of 2 years beginning on, and
including, the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent, it comes into
operation on the first day after the end of that period.

(5) Part 5 does not apply in or in relation to Victorian coastal waters until
a day to be fixed by the Governor in Council by proclamation published in the
Government Gazette.
