Appointment of medical officers of health

30. Appointment of medical officers of health



(1) Every council must appoint a medical officer of health, who must be a
registered medical practitioner.

(2) The medical officer of health-

   (a)  is entitled to receive the remuneration and allowances specified; and

   (b)  holds office on the terms and conditions-

in that officer's instrument of appointment.

(3) A medical officer of health appointed by a council must provide advice and
assistance on health matters to, and at the request of-

   (a)  the Secretary; and





   (b)  the council.
