Court may ask Secretary for report for purposes of section 83
84. Court may ask Secretary for report for purposes of section 83
(1) For the purposes of considering a matter referred to in section 83(2), (3)
or (4), the court may ask the Secretary to the Department of Human Services to
give the court a report about the options available for the appropriate
accommodation, care and supervision of the child if the exclusion condition
were included in the family violence intervention order.
(2) If the Secretary receives a request under subsection (1)-
(a) the Secretary must give the report to the court in the period ordered
by the court or, if no period is ordered, within the prescribed time;
and
(b) for a request relating to a child under the age of 17 years,
section 30 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 applies in
relation to the request for the report as if the request were a report
received under section 28 of that Act.
