Family Violence Protection Act 2008 - SECT 40

Reports

40. Reports



(1) The Chief Commissioner of Police and the Chief Magistrate of the
Magistrates' Court must each give to the Attorney-General a report about the
operation of this Division for the period ending 12 months after it commences.

(2) The reports must be given to the Attorney-General within 3 months after
the end of the 12 month period.

(3) The Chief Commissioner's report must include-

   (a)  statistics on the number of family violence safety notices issued
        during the 12 month period; and

   (b)  how many prosecutions for contraventions of the notices have occurred
        during the 12 month period; and

   (c)  whether the notices issued during the 12 month period were issued with
        or without the use of holding powers.

(4) The Chief Magistrate's report must include-

   (a)  statistics about the outcome of applications for family violence
        intervention orders arising out of family violence safety notices
        during the 12 month period; and

   (b)  statistics about the penalties imposed for contraventions of family
        violence safety notices during the 12 month period.
