Building societies and credit unions

55. Building societies and credit unions

Unless the contrary intention appears, a reference in an Act (other than this
Act) or a legislative instrument to a building society or credit union has
effect on and after the transfer date as a reference to an authorised
deposit-taking institution within the meaning of the Banking Act 1959 of the
Commonwealth.
