The long title for the Bill for this Act was "A Bill relating to the establishment and maintenance of futures markets, and the making of futures contracts, in Victoria, to provide for the licensing of futures brokers and certain other persons, and for related purposes.".
The Futures Industry (Application of Laws) Act 1986 was assented to on 27 May 1986 and came into operation on 1 July 1986: Government Gazette 25 June 1986 page 2180.
