The Committee's preliminary recommendation
14. The Committee's preliminary recommendation
(1) The Committee after considering the nominations must make a preliminary
recommendation that the nomination should either be supported or not be
supported.
(2) When the Committee has made a preliminary recommendation it must as soon
as possible-
(a) notify the nominator; and
(b) advertise its preliminary recommendation and the reasons for it in a
newspaper circulating generally throughout the State and in a
newspaper circulating generally in the area likely to be affected by
the recommendation; and
(c) publish notice of the making of the preliminary recommendation in the
Government Gazette.
(3) After advertising its preliminary recommendation the Committee must allow
30 days to elapse for public comment to be made and must consider any public
comments which are made during that time.
