Consent to disclosure of information may be required

18F. Consent to disclosure of information may be required



(1) The Director may require a person submitting an application for
registration to provide the Director with any consent required by another
person or body to enable the Director to obtain from the other person or body
information to check or confirm any information set out in the application.

(2) A reference in this Part to seeking further information in relation to an
application includes a reference to requiring the provision of any consent
referred to in subsection (1).

(3) A reference to a consent in this section includes a reference to the
consent of a person other than the person submitting the application.

Note Subsection (3), would, for instance, enable the Director to require a
person submitting an application to obtain the consent to a criminal record
check of a person whom the Director believes on reasonable grounds is an
associate of the person before the Director makes a final decision on whether
or not to grant the application.
