Fundraisers must be registered

17A. Fundraisers must be registered

Subject to Division 1, a person must not conduct a fundraising appeal unless
she or he is registered by the Director as a fundraiser. Penalty: In the case
of a corporation, 240 penalty units. In any other case, 120 penalty units or
imprisonment for 12 months or both. Note In the case of a person who ceases to
be exempt from this Part while the person is conducting a fundraising appeal,
section 18C suspends the operation of this section for a limited period.
