FIREARMS ACT 1996 - SECT 134A
Requirement to obtain consent of Chief Commissioner to certain alterations of firearms(1) A person must not alter a firearm so that it becomes a different category of firearm unless, before doing so, the person obtains the consent of the Chief Commissioner to do so.
Penalty: 60 penalty units.

(2) A person must not increase the magazine capacity of a firearm if the increase in the magazine capacity would cause the firearm to become a different category of firearm unless, before doing so, the person obtains the consent of the Chief Commissioner.
