91. Plantations for Government schools 3
Where the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has arranged
for the establishment of plantations of forest trees and plants (whether on
lands vested in the Minister administering the
Education and Training Reform Act 2006 or otherwise) and the planting and care
thereof by Government School pupils and teachers and members of school
councils under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, or in any cases
where such school councils are committees of management of Government School
forest plantations under section 92-
(a) the Secretary may provide from the nurseries of the Secretary, free of
cost, trees plants and seedlings for use in connexion with such
plantations under such conditions as are agreed upon by the Secretary
and the Secretary to the Department of Education and Early Childhood
Development;
(b) there may, notwithstanding anything in this Act, be paid out of the
moneys available for the purpose any sums (not exceeding in the
aggregate in all cases the sum of $10004 in any one year) towards
meeting the cost of obtaining materials required to be used in the
initial establishment of such plantations, and such sums may be
expended for that purpose in such manner as is agreed upon by the
Secretary and the Secretary to the Department of Education and Early
Childhood Development; and
(c) any municipal council may apply any portion of the municipal fund of
the municipal council for the purposes of any such plantation situate
within the municipal district of the municipal council or, with the
consent of the Governor in Council, may apply any portion of the said
fund for the purposes of any such plantation situate outside the said
municipal district.
