Acting appointments to the Authority

12. Acting appointments to the Authority



(1) When-

   (a)  the office of the chairperson of the Authority is vacant; or

   (b)  the chairperson of the Authority is absent from Victoria or otherwise
        unable to perform the duties of the office-

the Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, may appoint a
person to act in the office of chairperson.

(2) A person who is appointed under subsection (1) to act in the office of
chairperson of the Authority has and may exercise all the powers, and must
perform all the duties, of the office.

(3) When-

   (a)  the office of a member is vacant; or

   (b)  a member is absent from Victoria or is, for any reason, unable to
        attend meetings of the Authority or otherwise unable to perform the
        duties of the office-

the Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, may appoint a
person to act in that office.

(4) A person who is appointed under subsection (3) to act in the office of a
member has and may exercise all the powers, and must perform all the duties,
of the office.
