Deputies-elected members

9. Deputies-elected members



(1) Each elected member is to have a deputy elected in the same manner as the
member and appointed by the Governor in Council.

(2) The deputy of an elected member is to act in the case of illness,
suspension or absence of that member.

(3) A deputy of an elected member has while acting as a member the powers and
authority of the member.

(4) A person may act as the deputy of more than one elected member except for
the purposes of forming a quorum or voting on a resolution, provided that the
member is elected in the same manner as all of those members.
