ELECTRICITY SAFETY ACT 1998 - SECT 160
Transitional provisions—electrical contractors and mechanics(1) Any person who was registered as an electrical contractor under Part V of the State Electricity Commission Act 1958 immediately before the commencement of this section is deemed on that commencement to be registered as an electrical contractor under Division 1 of Part 3 of this Act for the remainder of the registration period.
(2) Any person who was licensed as an electrical mechanic in respect of a grade of electrical wiring work under Part V of the State Electricity Commission Act 1958 immediately before the commencement of this section is deemed on that commencement to be licensed under Division 2 of Part 3 of this Act as an electrical worker in respect of an equivalent class of electrical work for the remainder of the licence period.
