Authority liable to pay compensation

87. Authority liable to pay compensation



(1) The Authority is liable to compensate any person who has-

   (a)  sustained any pecuniary loss; or

   (b)  incurred any expense-

as a direct, natural and reasonable consequence of the entry onto or
occupation of or the carrying out of works on public land under section 86 by
or on behalf of the Authority.

(2) Any claim for compensation must be made and dealt with in accordance with
the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 as if it were a claim under
section 47(1) of that Act.

(3) A Utility is not entitled to compensation under this section.
