Grant of accreditation
26B. Grant of accreditation
(1) The Authority may grant accreditation if the Authority is satisfied that
the licence holder-
(a) has demonstrated a high level of environmental performance at the
particular premises which is the subject of the application; and
(b) can demonstrate an ongoing capacity to maintain and improve
environmental performance at the particular premises which is the
subject of the application.
(2) The following are to be considered in determining environmental
performance for the purposes of subsection (1)-
(a) whether the applicant has a suitable environmental management system
in place which is certified by a person approved by the Authority;
(b) whether the applicant is undertaking an environmental audit program
approved by the Authority with the participation of an environmental
auditor;
(c) whether the applicant has prepared or is preparing an environment
improvement plan which includes the matters specified in section
31C(6) and which is approved or is likely to be approved by the
Authority.
(3) The Authority must within 14 days of granting an application for
accreditation publish a notice in the Government Gazette specifying the name
of the licence holder and the location of the premises in respect of which
accreditation is granted.
