Power of Authority to require further information
22. Power of Authority to require further information
(1) The Authority may by notice in writing served on an applicant for a works
approval, the issue of a licence, the amendment of a licence or the transfer
of a licence require that applicant-
(a) to supply to the Authority within the time specified in the notice any
information, plans and specifications specified in the notice which
the Authority considers necessary and relevant to the consideration of
the application; and
(b) participate in and where the Authority considers it appropriate bear
the cost of a course of study as specified in the notice to enable the
Authority to assess the likely effects of any discharge, emission or
deposit of waste into the environment or of the reprocessing,
treatment, storage or disposal of prescribed industrial waste on the
environment.
(2) Where an applicant does not comply with a notice served under subsection
(1) within the period of time specified in the notice any time limit imposed
by this Act on the Authority in respect of that application shall be extended
by the period of time after the expiry of that period for which the applicant
continues that failure to comply.
