State environment protection policy

16. State environment protection policy



(1) For the purposes of this Act the Governor in Council may, on the
recommendation of the Authority, by Order published in the Government Gazette
declare the environment protection policy to be observed with respect to the
environment generally or in any portion or portions of Victoria or with
respect to any element or elements or segment or segments of the environment.

(1B) The Governor in Council may, by Order, declare State environment
protection policy with respect to the removal, disposal or reduction of litter
in the environment.

(1C) The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Authority, by Order
published in the Government Gazette, may declare State environment protection
policy with respect to the re-use and recycling of substances.

(2) Any Order made by the Governor in Council under this section may by Order
of the Governor in Council published in the Government Gazette be revoked or
varied.
