PART 1 PRELIMINARY

Purposes

1. Purposes

The purposes of this Act are-

   (a)  to re-enact and extend the law relating to equal opportunity and
        discrimination;

   (b)  to remove compulsory retirement provisions from Acts;

   (c)  to repeal the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 and make consequential
        amendments to other Acts.
