Employment of inspectors

41. Employment of inspectors



(1) There may be employed under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act 2004-

   (a)  a Chief Inspector of Quarries; and

   (b)  any inspectors of quarries that are necessary for the purposes of this
        Act.





(2) A person must not be employed under subsection (1)(b) unless he or she has
appropriate qualifications and experience.

(3) A person must not be employed under subsection (1)(a) unless he or she has
appropriate qualifications, training or experience to manage and oversee the
day to day operations of this Act.

(4) The Chief Inspector of Quarries has all the powers of an inspector.

(5) The Department Head must issue an identification certificate to each
inspector.



(6) An inspector must in the course of performing his or her functions under
this Act produce his or her identification certificate to anyone who requests
its production.
