Meetings of the Council

6C. Meetings of the Council



(1) Meetings of the Council must be presided over by the Chairperson or if the
Chairperson is absent by the Deputy Chairperson of the Council.

(2) If at the time fixed for the commencement of any meeting of the Council
neither the Chairperson nor the Deputy Chairperson is present, the members
present must elect one of their number to preside at the meeting.

(3) If a member is unable for any reason to attend a meeting of the Council
the Minister may nominate a person to attend instead of that member.

(4) A majority of members of the Council for the time being in office
constitute a quorum.

(5) Subject to the presence of a quorum the Council may act notwithstanding
any vacancy in its membership.

(6) The decision upon any matter by the majority of the members of the Council
present at any meeting is the decision of the Council.

(7) Subject to this Act, the Council may regulate its own procedure.
