53. Copy of contract etc. to be delivered to person signing



(1) When an estate agent (whether by himself or by an employee or agent's
representative) secures the signing of any person to any contract agreement or
other document pertaining to the sale purchase or exchange of any property or
business or of any interest therein or of the good-will of any business he
shall at the time the signature is obtained deliver a copy of the agreement
document or contract to the person signing it and obtain from that person an
acknowledgement in writing of the receipt of that copy.

(2) Where the estate agent (whether by himself or by an employee or agent's
representative) secures the signature of more than one person to a contract
agreement or other document under subsection (1) it shall be sufficient
compliance with that subsection if the estate agent delivers a copy of the
contract agreement or document to one of the persons signing it and obtains
from that person an acknowledgement in writing of the receipt of that copy.
