Rural branch manager's licence
30AB. Rural branch manager's licence
(1) Despite section 30(1), the holder of a rural branch manager's licence
issued under this section may manage a branch office that-
(a) is the branch office of a stock and station agent; and
(b) is in a town with a population (as recorded by the last published
census results of the Australian Bureau of Statistics) of not more
than 4000; and
(c) has its trust account records kept and maintained at the principal
office of the stock and station agent or at another branch office that
is managed by a licensed estate agent.
(2) The Authority may issue a rural branch manager's licence to a person to
manage a specified branch office if the person-
(a) has been employed as an agent's representative for not less than 2
years; and
(b) has completed any course of instruction specified by the Authority for
the purposes of this section.
(3) An application for a rural branch manager's licence must-
(a) be in the form specified by the Authority; and
(b) be accompanied by the prescribed fee.
(4) Sections 23 to 24B apply to the holder of a rural branch manager's licence
as if-
(a) a reference to a licensed estate agent was a reference to the holder;
and
(b) a reference to a prescribed fee was a reference to a fee prescribed
for the purposes of this section; and
(c) a reference to a form approved by the Authority was a reference to a
form approved by the Authority for the purposes of this section.
(5) This section expires on 31 December 1999, unless before that date the
Minister, on the recommendation of the Council, publishes a notice in the
Government Gazette stating that this section is not to expire1.
