Exception-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional laws and customs

72. Exception-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional laws and
customs

The hearsay rule does not apply to evidence of a representation about the
existence or non-existence, or the content, of the traditional laws and
customs of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander group. Note Section 72
formerly provided an exception for contemporaneous statements about a person's
health etc. Such provision can now be found in section 66A.
