Registered officer of a political party

44. Registered officer of a political party



(1) Subject to subsection (2), a reference in this Act to the registered
officer of a registered political party is a reference to the person shown on
the Register of Political Parties as the registered officer of that party.

(2) A reference in this Act to the registered officer of a registered
political party includes a reference to a person for the time being nominated
by the registered officer of a political party as a deputy registered officer
of the political party for the purposes of this Act.

(3) A nomination under subsection (2)-

   (a)  must be in writing, signed by the registered officer and lodged with
        the Commission; and

   (b)  must specify the name and address of the person nominated and be
        signed by that person; and

   (c)  may be revoked at any time by the registered officer by written notice
        lodged with the Commission.
