Evidence Act 1958 - SECT 149

Confession after promise or threat or purporting to be on oath

149. Confession after promise or threat or purporting to be on oath

No confession which is tendered in evidence shall be rejected on the ground
that a promise or threat has been held out to the person confessing, unless
the judge or other presiding officer is of opinion that the inducement was
really calculated to cause an untrue admission of guilt to be made; nor shall
any confession which is tendered in evidence be rejected on the ground that it
was made or purports to have been made on oath.
