When affirmation may be made instead of oath
102. When affirmation may be made instead of oath
Where-
(a) a person objects to being sworn; or
(b) it is not in the circumstances reasonably practicable without
inconvenience or delay to administer an oath to a person in the manner
appropriate to the religious belief of the person-
the person shall be permitted to make a solemn affirmation instead of taking
an oath in all places and for all purposes where an oath is required by law,
and that affirmation shall be of the same force and effect as if the person
had taken the oath.
