Procedure for preparation of the Poisons Code

12G. Procedure for preparation of the Poisons Code



(1) As soon as possible after preparing the Poisons Code, the Minister must
publish notice of its preparation in a daily newspaper circulating generally
throughout Victoria.

(2) The Minister may do anything else he or she considers appropriate to bring
the preparation of the Code to the attention of the public.

(3) After complying with subsections (1) and (2) the Minister must publish
notices of the preparation of the Code in the Government Gazette.

(4) A notice under this section must-

   (a)  give a brief and general description of the content of the Code; and

   (b)  fix a date, being a date on or after the date of publication of the
        notice in the Government Gazette, on which the Code takes effect; and

   (c)  state where and when the Code is available for inspection by members
        of the public; and

   (d)  give details of where, when and from whom a copy of the Code can be
        obtained.
