Other assistance in exercising powers
19A. Other assistance in exercising powers
(1) For the purpose of exercising a power under this Act, an inspector may
seek the assistance of any person.
(2) If the power being exercised involves entry to a place, the person
assisting must be allowed access to the place by the occupier, apparent
occupier or other person who has the management or control of the place for
the time being.
Penalty: 60 penalty units for a natural person; 300 penalty units for a body
corporate.
(3) If an inspector uses the assistance of an interpreter-
(a) any enquiry or request made by the interpreter on the inspector's
behalf is taken to have been made by the inspector; and
(b) any answer given to the interpreter is taken to have been given to the
inspector.
(4) Any member of the police force or officer or member of a fire authority
may, if requested to do so by an inspector, assist the inspector in the
execution of any of the inspector's powers or functions.
