Appointment of inspectors

45. Appointment of inspectors



(1) The Commission may appoint a prescribed building practitioner (as defined
in section 137B of the Building Act 1993) to act as an inspector for the
purposes of section 43F or 44.

(2) If a request is made under section 44, the Commission must not appoint an
inspector to attend a building site unless the appropriate fee determined in
accordance with the guidelines issued under Division 1 of Part 12 of the
Building Act 1993 in respect of the appointment has been paid to the
Commission by the person who asks for the appointment.

(3) A person need not be an employee of the Commission to be eligible to be
appointed as an inspector.

(4) No fee is payable in respect of the appointment of an inspector at the
request of the Director under section 43F.
