Community Visitors Board

32. Community Visitors Board



(1) The Community Visitors Board established by section 61 of the
Intellectually Disabled Persons' Services Act 1986 is continued under this
Act.

(2) The Community Visitors Board consists of-

   (a)  the Public Advocate; and

   (b)  2 community visitors elected in accordance with the regulations by
        community visitors.

(3) The functions of the Community Visitors Board are to-

   (a)  represent community visitors;

   (b)  prepare and circulate publications explaining the role of community
        visitors;

   (c)  supervise the training of community visitors;

   (d)  report a matter to the Public Advocate or the Minister;

   (e)  refer a matter under section 33;

   (f)  prepare an annual report.
