Functions of a community visitor

30. Functions of a community visitor

The functions of a community visitor are to visit any premises where a
disability service provider is providing residential services in the region
for which the community visitor is appointed and to inquire into-

   (a)  the appropriateness and standard of premises for the accommodation of
        residents;

   (b)  the adequacy of opportunities for inclusion and participation by
        residents in the community;

   (c)  whether the residential services are being provided in accordance with
        the principles specified in section 5;

   (d)  whether information is being provided to residents as required by this
        Act;

   (e)  any case of suspected abuse or neglect of a resident;

   (f)  the use of restrictive interventions and compulsory treatment;

   (g)  any failure to comply with the provisions of this Act;

   (h)  any complaint made to a community visitor by a resident.
