Disability Services Commissioner
14. Disability Services Commissioner
(1) There shall be a Disability Services Commissioner.
(2) The Disability Services Commissioner is to be appointed by the Governor in
Council.
(3) The Disability Services Commissioner is to hold office for a term, not
exceeding 5 years, specified in the instrument of his or her appointment, but
is eligible for re-appointment.
(4) The Governor in Council may specify other terms and conditions of
appointment in the Disability Services Commissioner's instrument of
appointment.
(5) The Disability Services Commissioner is entitled to receive any
remuneration or allowances from time to time fixed by the Governor in Council.
(6) The Disability Services Commissioner is, in respect of that office, not
subject to the Public Administration Act 2004.
(7) If immediately before his or her appointment, the Disability Services
Commissioner was an officer within the meaning of the
State Superannuation Act 1988, then while he or she is Disability Services
Commissioner, he or she continues, subject to that Act, to be an officer
within the meaning of that Act.
