Functions in relation to children in out of home care

29. Functions in relation to children in out of home care

The Child Safety Commissioner has the following functions in relation to out
of home care services for children and children in out of home care-

   (a)  to promote the provision of out of home care services that encourage
        the active participation of those children in the making of decisions
        that affect them;

   (b)  to advise the Minister and the Secretary on the performance of out of
        home care services;

   (c)  at the request of the Minister, to investigate and report on an out of
        home care service.
