General functions in relation to child safety

19. General functions in relation to child safety

The functions of the Child Safety Commissioner are-

   (a)  to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister about child
        safety issues, at the request of the Minister;

   (b)  to promote child-friendly and child-safe practices in the Victorian
        community;

   (c)  the functions relating to working with children conferred by Division
        2;

   (d)  the functions relating to out of home care conferred by Division 3;

   (e)  the functions relating to child inquiries, including child deaths,
        conferred by Division 4;

   (f)  any other functions conferred on the Child Safety Commissioner under
        this Act or any other Act.
