Transitional provisions

30. Transitional provisions



(1) The register kept under section 15 of the Chattel Securities Act 1981
shall be deemed to form part of the register kept under Part 3 of this Act.

(2) The Chattel Securities Act 1981 continues to apply to-

   (a)  an application for registration made under section 16 of that Act
        before the commencement of this section; and

   (b)  an application for compensation made under section 24 or 25 of that
        Act before that commencement-

as if this Act had not been enacted.

(3) Despite its repeal, section 26 as in force immediately before the
commencement of section 11(2)(b) of the Chattel Securities (Amendment) Act
1998 continues to apply with respect to any loss or damage arising from or in
connection with a purchase that took place before that commencement.
