Appointment of authorized officers

2A. Appointment of authorized officers

The chief executive officer of a court or a clerk of a court may only appoint
as an authorized officer a person whom the chief executive officer or the
clerk is satisfied-

   (a)  is competent to exercise the functions conferred on an authorized
        officer by or under this Act; and

   (b)  is of good repute, having regard to character, honesty and integrity;
        and

   (c)  has agreed in writing to exercise the functions conferred on an
        authorized officer by or under this Act.
