CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT 2009 - SECT 219
Plea of guilty to alternative offence(1) On arraignment, an accused may plead not guilty to the offence charged but guilty to another offence of which the accused might be found guilty.
(2) The consequences of pleading guilty to another offence under subsection (1) are the same as if the other offence had been charged in the indictment.
