Regulations

29. Regulations



(1) The Governor in Council may make regulations for or with respect to any
matter or thing required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed or
necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to
this Act.

(2) Without limiting subsection (1), the regulations may-

   (a)  make provision for the form of ballot-paper to be used in elections
        for the Lord Mayor and the Deputy Lord Mayor; and

   (b)  modify the effect of any provision of Schedule 2 or 3 of the
        Local Government Act 1989, or of any regulations made under that Act,
        as it applies to any election conducted under this Act;

   (c)  make any provision needed to ensure that an election can be conducted
        by postal voting.

(3) Section 243 of the Local Government Act 1989 applies to regulations made
under this section as if they had been made under that Act.
