Reports of family members and victims

42. Reports of family members and victims



(1) For the purpose of-

   (a)  assisting counselling and treatment processes for all people affected
        by an offence; and

   (b)  assisting the court in determining any conditions it may impose on an
        order made in respect of a person under this Act or in determining
        whether or not to grant a person extended leave-

a family member of the person or a victim of the offence may make a report to
the court.

(2) A report by a family member or victim is to contain the views of the
family member or victim on the conduct of the person and the impact of that
conduct on the family member or victim.

(4) A report may be made by another person on behalf of a family member or
victim-

   (a)  who is under the age of 18 years; or

   (b)  who the court is satisfied is incapable of making the report because
        of mental impairment or any other reason.
