25. Building Act 1993



(1) Despite anything to the contrary in the Building Act 1993, the Minister
administering that Act, by Order published in the Government Gazette, may
declare that the administration and enforcement, in relation to all or part of
a Commonwealth Games project, of any of the provisions of that Act and the
regulations made under that Act is to be carried out-

   (a)  by the Secretary or any other person or body specified in the Order;
        and

   (b)  in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Order.

(2) The Building Act 1993 and the regulations under that Act apply for the
purposes of this section as if any reference to a council or a relevant
building surveyor or a municipal building surveyor were a reference to the
Secretary or the relevant person or body specified in an Order under this
section.

Division 3-Role of Secretary
