84. Appointment of persons to perform certain functions of authorised officers



(1) The Secretary may appoint-





   (a)  any specified employee or a specified class of employees employed by
        the Secretary, or in the Department or in the Public Service or (with
        the consent of the Minister administering that Department) in any
        Department of the Government of the Commonwealth, a State or a
        Territory; or

   (aa) a specified member of staff or specified class of members of staff of
        the Victorian Plantations Corporation; or

   (b)  a specified person or a specified class of persons-

to perform any of the powers, functions or duties of authorised officers that
are specified by the Secretary.

(2) When making an appointment under subsection (1) the Secretary may
determine that the person or class of persons is to perform the powers
functions and duties of authorised officers in the whole, or specified parts,
of Victoria.
